Street Photography, Cartier-Bresson Inspired: Celebrating the Art of Black and White

Welcome to Street Photography, Cartier-Bresson Inspired

With over 360,000 members and growing, our Facebook group celebrates the timeless art of black-and-white street photography. Inspired by the great Henri Cartier-Bresson, we embrace the purity, simplicity, and raw emotion that only this medium can offer. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just beginning your journey in street photography, this is a community where passion meets tradition.

We focus on the purist, traditional style of street photography, capturing unfiltered moments of life as they unfold. There are no flashy edits or colour distractions here—just the honest beauty of the streets, immortalised in black and white.

Our Values: Purism in Black and White

At Street Photography, Cartier-Bresson Inspired, we hold strong to the principles of traditional street photography. We believe that true street photography doesn’t need elaborate edits or heavy post-processing—it’s about capturing the essence of the streets in the rawest, most authentic way possible. The group is strictly black and white, and we encourage images that tell a story with minimal distraction.

Whether you're walking down the busy streets of a metropolitan city or capturing quiet moments in a small town, we look for images that convey emotion, narrative, and the spontaneous energy of life. We honour Cartier-Bresson’s belief that the decisive moment is key and promote our own mantra, "content is king".
